Transforming Teaching and Learning Through STEM EducationBy Diana Wehrell-Grabowski on July 14, 2013 in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education, Teacher Training Workshops, What Makes A Great Teacher?
I’ve seen it over and over again, how STEM education can transform the way teachers think and teach. STEM education will play a major role in transforming our educational system in the nation and the world. STEM promotes the 4C’s: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration. Our current educational practices are greatly lacking in the 4C’s. In order for our nation and world to provide students with a quality and meaningful life-long education creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration must be allowed, encouraged, and developed within all classrooms. STEM education can indeed transform the way we teach and think. Check out this STEM teacher training video on youtube which provides visual and audio samples of teachers conducting hands-on-minds-on STEM investigations. If your school or district is ready to transform through STEM check out the STEM teacher training workshops I offer on this site.
