K-12 STEM Teacher Training Workshops Aligned With the Learning Goals of NGSSBy Diana Wehrell-Grabowski on February 2, 2015 in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education, Teacher Training Workshops
With many states adopting the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) schools and districts will need to provide long-term, sustainable professional staff development to their teaching staff. The Next Generation Science Standards will require many teachers to change the way they teach and think. A major change in the new standards is the addition and focus of Scientific and Engineering Practices, where K-12 students will be given opportunities to actually see and practice how science is done in the “real-world”. The Next Generation Science Standards will truly transform our educational system however, teachers will require long-term, progressive training that will allow them to observe affective teaching and learning practices. Many K-12 educators may be comfortable with their science content knowledge however, they may be uncomfortable with their capabilities to incorporate the Engineering Design Process within their science lessons. If your state has adopted the Next Generation Science Standards, and is looking for quality and long-term Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math professional staff development check out the K-12 STEM teacher training I provide nation-wide. All STEM professional development is aligned with the learning goals of the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core. Check out the K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math workshops I offer here. STEM K-12 Teacher Training Workshops
Additionally, I can incorporate the arts in the STEM trainings as well since many schools and districts have embraced adding the arts into STEM education to STEAM.
